Deputy Commisisioner Roseanda Jones joined the Bermuda Police service in May 1978 and graduated from Training School 3 months later, having attained the Baton of Honour as the Best All-Round Recruit. Since then she has been attached to almost every section of the service including Uniform Patrols, Criminal Investigations, Vehicle Crime Unit, Community & Media Relations, Narcotics, and as Officer in Charge of the Intelligence Division. On Monday, December 12, 2005 she was appointed Deputy Commissioner Designate, and was sworn in as the island's first female Deputy Commissioner on Thursday, December 15, 2005.
Extensive training opportunites throughout her career have taken her to some of the more prominent law enforcemnt agencies in the world, including New scotland Yard in the United Kingdom, the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) in the United States, as well as Interpol in Mexico.
In addition, Detective Superintendent Jones was the Co-ordinator of the 2003 Association of Caribbean Commissioners of Police Conference hosted by the Bermuda Police Service in May, and most recently she attended the International Strategic Programme at Centrex, Bramshill, UK.
