Robert Pires is a chartered financial analyst with more than 25 years’ experience. After working overseas, he returned to Bermuda in 1991 and established BIAS – an investment management company that provides services to Bermuda-based companies, captive insurers, trusts and private clients. He has worked for a number of organisations including the Bank of Bermuda, the Bank of Butterfield and the Bermuda Monetary Authority.He has an MBA in International Business Finance from George Washington University.Throughout his career, Mr Pires has served as a director on the boards of various international companies and is currently Vice President of the Bermuda Employers’ Council.He actively campaigns on behalf of Bermuda’s Portuguese community and in 2004 produced and narrated a documentary film on the connection between Bermuda and the Azores called The Returnees.In 1999 he was instrumental in raising funds for an exhibition for Azorean artists at the Bermuda National Gallery to commemmorate the 150th anniversary of planned migration of Portuguese to Bermuda.
