Peter Martin has led the international corporate practice group since he joined Mello Jones & Martin as a partner in February 1991. Mr. Martin has developed the firm's corporate, mutual fund and banking practice and now leads the firm's finance team. He has been consistently recognised as one of the island's pre-eminent corporate law practitioners. Mr. Martin received his Bachelor of Laws from the University of Manchester (1977), attended the Inns of Court School of Law (1983) and received his Master of Science degree in Human Rights at the London School of Economics and Political Science (2006).            

Mr. Martin was called to the Bar of England & Wales (Gray's Inn) in 1983 and was called to the Bermuda Bar in 1984. He has been active for many years in company and partnership law reform in Bermuda. He entered the Attorney General's Chambers as a junior parliamentary counsel and legal advisor to the Ministry of Finance and Bermuda Monetary Authority. Mr. Martin has a particular interest in partnership law and is a member of the Association of Partnership Practitioners. In addition, he has been a member of numerous ad hoc advisory committees to consider legislation on a wide variety of areas ranging from investment business to e-commerce.
