Mark Byrne has been involved in the insurance and reinsurance business as an owner/investor and board member for many years and is currently Chairman of Flagstone. He is founder and Chairman of the private reinsurance company Haverford (Bermuda) and is founder, Chairman and CEO of West End Capital Management, a Bermuda based fixed income investment manager. Prior to founding West End in 1998, Mr Byrne served as Managing Director at Credit Suisse First Boston and before that was Executive Director at Lehman Brothers. He has held management positions at PIMCO and Salomon Brothers and has 18 years experience in the fixed income and derivative business. Mr Byrne is also Vice Chairman of Island Heritage Insurance Company in the Cayman Islands.
