Superintendent Larry Smith has the honour of being the longest serving Police officer in the Bermuda Police Service. Mr. Smith joined the Service as a Police Cadet on August 1st 1964 and began his official career as a Police officer on May 15th 1967. He has held various postings within the Service including Central Uniform, Western Uniform, Traffic Unit, C.I.D., Special Branch, and his current posting as Officer in Charge of Narcotics.

He has attended several overseas courses that include an Executive Development Course, a Commercial Crime Course and an Executive Development Course (all in Canada), an Inspectors Course in the U.K., a Drug Investigations Course with the D.E.A. in New Jersey (U.S.A.), and a Commanders Skills Course in Branshill Model in the Caribbean.
