Joel Schaefer is currently the President and CEO of CAPITAL G Investments Ltd., part of the CAPITAL G group of companies. 

CAPITAL G provides discretionary investment services and its client base includes high net worth individuals located within Bermuda and overseas as well as Bermuda based corporate, government and charitable entities. 

Joel is responsible for all segments of the investment business including preparation and execution of strategic development plans, compliance, and client relationships.  

He is a member of the research and portfolio management teams.  Joel also serves as the Chief Investment Officer of CAPITAL G Bank Ltd.Prior to joining CAPITAL G, Joel spent 14 years with the Bank of Bermuda, working on both the investment and credit side of the bank.  Joel provided discretionary investment services to high net worth clients, and served on the Bank’s Global Investment Policy Committee as well as the Private Client Credit Committee.  He completed his tenure acting as the director of client relationship management for North America and Bermuda. Joel earned his Charted Financial Analyst designation in 1997, and possesses a bachelor of arts in economics from Wesleyan University.  He is a former president of the CFA Society of Bermuda, where he served as a member of the board for six years.  Joel serves as a director on the Global Voyager Funds Ltd. Invesdex Ltd. and the Bermuda Sloop Foundation.  Joel began his banking career in 1984 with JP Morgan – Chase. He is married with one daughter.  He enjoys music, rock climbing, windsurfing and waterskiing.
