David Burch has served as Government Leader in the Senate, Minister without Portfolio and Minister of Housing. He is currently Minister of Labour, Home Affairs and Housing.

He served for 20 years of active and distinguished service at the Bermuda Regiment where he retired as Commanding Officer. In the last government, Col. Burch served as the Government Leader in the Senate and the Minister of Public Safety & Housing.  He is the chief architect of geared to income housing, as the Bermuda Housing Corporation falls under his auspices.

Colonel Burch attended West End Primary, Southampton Glebe and Sandys Secondary. He also attended two of Britain’s best military schools: The Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst, and The School of Infantry, Warminster. Colonel Burch was awarded the Efficiency Decoration in 1990 for outstanding military service, and the First Clasp in 1996. In 1998 he was awarded an OBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours.He spent 14 years in the International Company sector as a Reinsurance Underwriting Manager with several Fortune 500 companies.
