Born in 1951, Clyde Best is one of Bermuda’s best-known footballers. He earned his first cap for the national side at the age of 15 and later coached the national team.Between 1969 and 1976, he played for West Ham United and was one of the first black players in English football. He played in more than 180 games and scored 47 goals for the team.Best also played for the Dutch team Feyenoord, as well as several North American sides.He was inducted into the Bermuda National Sports Hall of Fame in 2004 and was awarded an MBE in the January 2006 New Year's Honours list for services to football and the community in Bermuda.
