Police are warning members of the public to safeguard themselves against burglaries.
The Bermuda Police Service has noticed an increase in the theft of expensive items and electronic equipment such as flat screen TVs, laptop computers and jewellery.
Members of the public are being advised not to leave boxes outside their residences which would indicate to a potential burglar what their recent purchases were.
It is also recommended to keep a copy of the serial numbers for all the items they have purchased, so that in the event they are stolen and later recovered, the items can be returned to their rightful owners.
