Legendary golfer Nick Faldo is to redesign the St George’s Golf Course.
The new course will be a feature of the new luxury hotel planned for the former Club Med site by Bazarian International.
“I am thrilled to be designing a golf course in Bermuda,” said Mr Faldo. “And especially one in such a superb, beautiful and historic location. My company, Faldo Design, has an excellent working relationship with Carl Bazarian and his development team. We are close to completing another outstanding project with them in the Dominican Republic and I am confident that together we can bring a world class golf resort development to this part of the island.”
The Bermuda Government, Corporation and people of St George’s will be asked to give their input on the redesign of the 18-hole.
Premier and Tourism Minister Dr Ewart Brown said: “This is great news for St George’s and indeed tremendous news for tourism throughout Bermuda. I believe our island already has a fine reputation in the golfing world, but this development and the association with Nick Faldo will take it to another level.”
Established in 1991, Faldo Design has completed projects in 14 different countries, including several award-winning designs.
