Alderman Courtland Boyle has been appointed Deputy Mayor of the City of Hamilton.
The Deputy Mayor assumes responsibility for the Corporation only when the Mayor is off the island.
Mr Boyle has been an Alderman since June 2007 and a Common Councillor of the Corporation since 2003.
He is a Vice President of W. J. Boyle & Son Ltd., a well-known family business in the City of Hamilton.
Mayor Sutherland Madeiros said: “I am delighted to welcome Courtland as Deputy Mayor. I know he will embrace the position with enthusiasm and integrity. I am looking forward to working more closely with him.
“At the same time I would like to thank Bill Black who has been Deputy Mayor for the City for the last year and a half. He made a valuable contribution to the City.”
Mr Black will remain an Alderman.
