The work of school counsellors and the impact they can have on helping students achieve success and plan for a career will be recognised this week.
National School Counseling Week 2008 and Career Week 2008 begins today and focuses public attention on the contribution of school counsellors within the public school system.
The event is sponsored by the American School Counselor Association (ASCA) and the Bermuda Ministry of Education and will be launched by Education Minister Randolph Horton.
Bermuda’s professional school counsellors are all experienced educators with a master’s degree in counselling or social work.
As part of its celebration for National School Counselling Week, The Berkeley Institute will be launching Career Week 2008 where students can receive advice about the opportunities available.
