The Argus Group will hold a Pensions Awareness Week from March 3 to 7 to raise awareness about the importance of pension planning and saving for retirement.
On Thursday, March 6, Argus will hold information seminars for pension clients and the following day there will be a cocktail party for its longest-standing pension clients, some of whom have been with the company since the 1950s.
Other events will include a speech to the Hamilton Rotary Club by Lauren Bell, Executive Vice President, Life & Pensions who, along with President & Chief Executive Officer, Gerald Simons, will speak about pensions on a variety of radio talk shows.
Ms Bell said: “Many people retiring today will live for another 20 or 30 years. In order for retirees to maintain the standard of living they enjoyed in earlier years, they need to plan ahead and save. Contributing to a pension plan is one of the biggest investments that people make in their lifetime; we encourage people to assess their knowledge of investments and their tolerance for risk in order to make informed decisions.”
